The Making of Wholly Aware, My Newest Short Film Believe it or not, the time is finally here. After several allusions and at least 2 direct references, I’m finally getting around to dropping my latest short film. The reason why I’ve delayed it for so long is fairly simple. I just never got around to creating the content necessary to accompany the film. Lame excuse right? Well…better delayed than never. I suppose step one is taking you through the making of the film right? Walk with me then. It’s always fun to have cool friends that are willing to help you shoot a short film. (Although, conveniently none of them are anywhere to be found when it’s time to edit.) It’s great to have buddies that are willing to help you bounce around ideas, inform you of when said ideas suck (thanks a lot Nick), serve as your models (Andre and Rachel), camerawoman (Rachel), and emotional support (Will). At this point in time, many of you are surely wondering why I’m giving the names of people you haven’t been introduced to. Fret not! Rachel I do believe that this is one of my favorite portraits that I’ve ever taken. It’s a head shot of my friend Rachel, a girl with personality and intellect as vibrant as her hair, eyes, and lipstick. The photo was taken a few weeks ago during the filming of my most recent film. What was originally intended as a test shot ended up becoming a stunning portrait. I’m 99% certain that this is the longest hiatus in TheCreativeRoutine’s history, and I must say…I have felt guilty for neglecting my duties as of late. But no worries, I shall make it up to you guys. After all, I haven’t just been sitting around and learning the fundamentals of cooking from Lil’ B this entire time. I’ve been chilling with my homegirl Rebecca Black too. In all seriousness though, in the little free time that school has allotted me, I’ve been keeping myself busy. I recently completed a short film and am currently in the intense process of editing another. (Picture long nights of isolation in the studio with A Tribe Called Quest, Gil Scott-Heron, and other hip hop classics on continuous repeat). Yeah that’s been my life these past few days haha. It’ll all be worth it in the end though. I recently completed a short film and am currently in the intense process of editing another. (Picture long nights of isolation in the studio with A Tribe Called Quest, Gil Scott-Heron, and other hip hop classics on continuous repeat). Yeah that’s been my life these past few days haha. It’ll all be worth it in the end though.

The above photos are an amalgamation of a few shoots I recently had, film stills from my recently completed short film, and stills from the one I’m currently working on. I won’t reveal anymore. It’ll be worth the wait, trust me.

Last but not least, I’d like to say hello to all my followers: the ones that have been with me for quite some time now and all of the new ones I’ve obtained in my seven day absence (I’ve actually gained an unusual amount of followers this past week.
